Denver, Colorado-based hip-hop artist, Jelie, breaks free from those who influenced her path on her latest single, “Just Like You.” This self-produced track is highlighted by it’s neo-soul melodies and boom-bap drums. Jelie’s bouncy flow tells the story of looking up to an individual, to later realize that admiration may have been misguided. Speaking on the track, Jelie stated, “This one was well controlled and close to home though. Hip Hop to the fullest.” Jelie continued, “There were a number of artists that I looked up to locally that turned out to be egotistical and arrogant.” Watch the official video for “Just Like You” below.
