Pennsylvania-based hip-hop artist Mighty Theodore has teamed up with Guilty Simpson and Rockness Monsta for his new single, “On The Cover Of Word Up!” This track is the second single from his upcoming album, The Old Rap Language, which will be released via URBNET on December 13th.
The album’s title pays homage to the pioneering days of rap when lyricism was truly at the forefront. Drawing inspiration from legends like The Treacherous Three and Lightnin’ Rod, Theodore presents a collection of tracks that highlight his exceptional storytelling skills and profound understanding of the genre’s history.
The production of the album, handled by Jazzsoon, perfectly complements Theodore’s lyrical style. The boom-bap beats create a nostalgic backdrop for his narratives of struggle and survival, transporting listeners back to the golden age of Hip Hop. The Old Rap Language also features collaborations with artists such as Kool Keith, Moka Only, Myka 9, Guilty Simpson, Casual, Defari, and DJ Doo Wop, among others.
“On The Cover Of Word Up!” by Mighty Theodore was released to digital streaming platforms on November 15th, 2024, and is now playing on Fresh Kicks: Boom-Bap.
