Toronto rap artist, Richard, has recently released his new EP, S&D on SoundCloud. S&D is a introspective project which is meant to inspire listeners to reflect on how they express themselves. On “Gameless,” Richard touches on the current state of the music industry and how streaming platforms have pitted artists in competition with each other over numbers and stats. This makes it one of the standout tracks in my opinion as it highlights one of the overarching themes of the project which is dropping your ego. A couple of Richard’s biggest influences are Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole, which shows in his flow and beat selection.
